Lea, I'll side wid ya on this.....my (obviously long suffering) wife 
is MORE than 100% supportive of my photography and music....by this I 
mean that while I won't let my "avocations" affect our bank balance/etc, 
SHE probably would...I've told her year after year NOT to buy me birthday/christmas/
anniversary/etc presents.....I spend enough througout the year on my 
junk....
I've managed to hang on to my (minimal) camera gear through hard times 
(hopefully in the past) where most would have "hocked" their gear....
On another topic, she has sat in many a (nasty, scummy, biker) bar and 
listened to some excruciatingly loud shitty music that I've participated 
in making...which if I'm lucky paid $50 by the time I got home.....
all without complaining!!!...
Those of us who have such wives are very fortunate indeed....
