[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I've said this before, but I'll regurgitate again: >IF< this is a forum about Leica cameras (RF-that's what the list is supposedly about), collecting, performance, etc, then politics has NO place here. If, however, we accept that 35mm RF cameras are intended for reportage and documentation (I don't know what the hell else they'd be designed for-- any other type of photography has better tools available--) and >>>IF<<< the forum is about "Leica Photography", then politics is AT LEAST as important as lenses and films...in fact, a large percentage of historically significant Leica photographs were political in nature, and it continues as history is being made DAILY (hopefully documented with at least a few Leicas, tho I haven't heard) The members may complain, the List Admin may complain or even cut it off, but that doesn't change the facts....Leica photography has become somewhat synomous with political photography... The subjects of religeon, sex, and politics are NO LONGER the "taboo" our (naive) parents told us they were...after age 14 or so, they're even discussed in school. If the LUG consists mainly of old farts fondling their latest status symbol, as my non-lug friends accuse, then please disregard all the above.. If "Leica Photography" is the subject, then expect "deviations" and "politics"... it's part of the game. Kyle is on the radical other end of the yardstick, politically, from me...by his OWN self-description...I still (especially?) need to know what he thinks...he's THERE...politics is WHAT IS GOING ON...and hopefully he's whacking away with a beat up M-whatever (and, of course, his gawdawful Nikons) Walt On Tue, 13 Nov 2001 10:54:06 -0600 George Lottermoser <imagist@concentric.net> wrote: > msmall@roanoke.infi.net (Marc James Small)11/12/019:50 PM > > > Kindly take this crap off of the LUG, Kyle.
