He also can clean and repair other lens defects as well as being honest and telling you when something won't work or isn't called for. As an example, I bought a very hazy DR that someone had taken apart to clean fungus and done a particularly bad job of it. Needless to say the lens was extremely cheap and in otherwise good shape. About a month in the spa in Colorado and the DR was in pristine condition and now taking typical wonderful Leica photos.
