Thanks, all, for your suggestions. Upon going to a local camera store
yesterday with my DR Summicron attached to my M3 and asking if they had in
stock an E39 yellow filter, the young clerk who attempted help me said, "We
only have Hoya filters in stock and nothing labeled E39, so you might call
the manufacturer of your Russian camera and check with them." I successfully
restrained an otherwise inevitable laugh, thanked him for his effort, and
left.

I then went to e-Bay, searched for "E39 yellow filter", and placed a winning
bid on a mint Leica filter for $26. Yay! e-Bay does it again!
