Last Friday I had the pleasure of meeting Elliott Erwitt in London at a RPS lecture at the National Portrait Gallery. What a very humerous man, and great photos! I now have in my posession his latest book 'Snaps' together with a paperback of his book of dogs. He was gracious enough to sign both together with a small booklet of English postage stamps which feature 8 dog and cat images from Magnum - needless to say the dogs are all his! He was somewhat retiscent about equipment and film, saying that it didn't matter in response to some of the banal questioning from the audience, but later let slip that he was a Leica 'pusher' (his word).

The London Chapter of the RPS seem to be getting some great lecturers now. In December they have Phillip Jones Griffiths to co-incide with the rerelease of his book 'Vietnam Inc.' but regrettably the tickets for that one sold out almost before they were available.

Meantime the stock of signed photographic tomes continues to grow!
