I've only had a chance to glance through this, and the others I mention here, but this Capa collection makes me rethink Capa - in a positive way Elliott Erwitt Snaps - More than 500 images, half of which haven't been published previously...If you think of Erwitt as simply someone who took funny photos of dogs and not funny photos of MM, definitely take a look at this one... Vietnam, Inc. - The Philip Jones Griffiths classic reissued, with a forward by Noam Chomsky - okay, so skip the forward if you're not a Chomsky fan - :-) - and ignore the BS about how this book is what turned around public opinion on the Vietnam War - (Hello? Can you say 'nightly news?' Can you say 'Life Magazine?' Can you say 'body bags?') A classic none the less... There are also a number of new titles in the Phaidon 55 series.... And, not from Phaidon - there is a new W. Eugene Smith book out - Paradise Street - a collection of the 200-and-some photos - our of 17,000 - which he considered the core of his Pittsburgh project.
