I can work in light conditions now that I used to avoid because I don't like muddy, washed-out colors. Even with less challenging lighting the R lenses give me more shadow detail and fewer blocked-up highlights, so I can make photos where these areas are important to the message of the picture, where I would have avoided these photos in the past. Walt, you're right, my picture-taking behavior is "different" because I'm using a Leica, and it's the Leica glass that makes the difference. There are many photo situations where the difference doesn't matter but the Leica glass allows me to stretch the boundaries of workable light conditions.
