Dear Robert - even if you <can't use> a wider lens, I presume you still
don't <need> closer focusing with Summicron than the proverbial 1 metre. DOF
will take care of your picture sharpness; and then you can stop down the
lens, and, even more, if you're using flash, you can experiment with longer
shutter speeds in order to allow more ambient light to correct the harsh
shadows the flash produces!

Precautions? the likelhood you completely unthread the lens and it falls,
striking concete of course, is HIGH.

The rangefinder will not be accurate but I cannot say how far off it might
be.
