Thanks. Finally a post on this subject which keeps a sense of proportion. I too
expect and hope that not only the postal service but also private delivery
services take this step. I fully realize that of this is applied in Europe, it
will mean the end of Kodachrome, my favourite slide film, and will take away my
ability to buy film by mail order in Germany (cheaper than here in Switzerland).
But I am willing to pay this price. The world has changed in very undesireable
ways in the past 6 weeks, and we will just have to adapt to it. Think of all the
people who died; think of all the people who have lost their jobs in the airline
and travel industries; compared to that, the inability to ship unprocessed film
seems a minor inconvenience.
