What we have here is the key to why all we Leica crazies don't have a ton of gear, even more so than whether we had the money to pay for it or not! And the operative phrase is: >>- or more accurately, my wife can't on my behalf! <<<< Now without that guiding hand of wifely common sense economic restraint just imagine how wonderfully in debt we'd all be ( but well equipped) ;-) if that..."mill stone wife bean counter" ;-) would just let us get whatever we wanted! :-) Actually there's the reverse of this guiding hand where the "husband is the bean counter" ;-) However, we wont go into that one! ;-) But in the end they always act in our own best interest and I've discovered the secret is to let them go on a little holiday.... "as inexpensively as possible" and while they're away and before they return strange packages arrive on your door step! ;-) And "Gee whiz honey those new Leica boxes are old ones I'm sort of just cleaning out the cupboard !" ;-) Now if you can get her to swallow that one you're cool and got it made. :-) However, some day when you arrive home from work and see the Fed Ex receipt left after a pick-up and the address for the shipment is to your local Leica dealer................ you know she's got your number and you have to devise a new purchase system! :-) And any of you guys who pull this off and it works please let the rest of us know how you made out! ;-) But no matter what happens never tell your wife I told you what to do as I have enough to handle with one wife without all your wives trying to get at my throat. Besides if "she who must be obeyed" knew I encouraged this kind of operation she'd invite your wives over for an "all hands on deck" keel hauling of you know who! :-) And I don't do "under water" for long periods of time very well! ;-) ted Ted Grant Photography Limited www.islandnet.com/~tedgrant - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
