Of course, I am grateful not to work for Magnum and to have the latitude to photography anything I want. Of course, to be honest, although I enjoy using the Leicaflex quite a bit I still shoot with lots of other cameras like the Nikon F etc. so I'm not exclusive to using other tools. About the National Geographic special, I thought that it wasn't so much about the Afghan territory but a lot more political stuff rather than cultural. Of course, I probably will be going to pursue some ideas for a portrait sitting I have to do for the rest of the month :) peace out, Alfie - -----Original Message----- From: Kyle Cassidy [mailto:KCassidy@asc.upenn.edu] Sent: Friday, October 26, 2001 11:29 AM To: 'leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us' Subject: Shutterbabe Re: [Leica] Curiosity on Magnum >Just wondering how many more.... I know this is going to turn into a rediculous thread -- but I'll wager that everybody in Magnum has a Leica. Whether or not they use it is an entirely different story. Mary Ellen Mark (also of Magnum fame) I know has a bunch and has had even more in the past. Though this is not to say that when she goes out on a shoot she has a Leica on her shoulder. Although Leica made her fameous, she mostly shoots with Canon EOS, Hasselblad, and a 4x5. I suspect most photographers are like that -- they pull out the Leica only when they need it.... Did anybody see the National Geographic show "Afghanistan Revealed"? it looked like a commercial for the M6. They even showed one getting loaded.
