It acted as the focusing mount. Your third generation 35mm Summicron does not have a removable lens head. Tell us what you want to take pictures of and we can tell you what equipment you need. Personally, I used the viso for macro photography with either the pre-69 50/2 or the 90/4 Elmar lens heads. Collapsable lenses do not have lens heads that unscrew. I also used the viso with a 200/4 telyt. I also use the Bellows II which will focus to infinity with 65mm and above lenses.
