Very simple. I have 3 M bodies and 4 M lenses. Everything needs to fit into my Domke
803 satchel. Typically, my M3 body is loaded with either infrared film or Delta 3200,
in other words, stuff I do not use on a daily basis. The two M6 bodies have
Kodachrome and a normal B&W film respectively. So I have lenses on those two, ready
for action, but the M3 is kept without a lens on to conserve space. So body caps are
indeed useful. We all have different ways to use our equipment. I do not "store" any
of mine, anything that does not see sufficient use is ruthlessly sold off.
