For what it's worth...I bought a silver 35mm summicron at the Leica Day at
NYCV on September 8th...decided on chrome because I liked it's look on my m6
and it's feel when changing aperture..also...I filed for the $200 rebate the
next week and received it today October 9.  I heard that Leica was taking
over ten weeks to process the rebate checks but mine came in about a month.

I think wrapping the black lens in silver duct tape would be cheaper.
