Subject: [Leica] Technical Pan and Filter Factors
From: Adam Bridge <abridge@mac.com>

On reading the information pamphlet I discover that filter factor for
technical pan is pretty much in the "try it and see what happens" category.

Does anyone have suggestions for a starting point with this film? I'm
shooting landscapes and often use a 5x red filter to darken the sky. With
Delta 400 or 100 I have to open one and a half stops beyond the indicated
exposure to get a proper exposure. Orange is about 1 stop.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I'm going to be processing in tecridol or whatever they call it. I note that
Kodak suggests filling the tank and then putting the film rolls into the
tank rather than pouring it into the tank's funnel. They seem to do this for
all their film which makes processing in a glove bag sorta difficult. I'll
be in a full darkroom but somehow I'd rather find an alternate to this.

Thoughts and experiences?

Adam
