Yes, I think the fact that I was shooting with a 50mm at f2 about four feet from him gave me just a sliver of depth of field. It was the first time I have used that lens, I am much more accustomed to the 35mm or 90mm. A moment before, I shot this one: http://www.sonc.com/cousin.jpg It really shows how shallow the DOF was. I chose the other one for my P.A.W. because the expression was one that I've remembered for many years from this man. > > http://www.sonc.com/paw/paw39alt.htm > > This one I like better. It is a nice scene with 3 generations. > Nathan Wajsman > http://www.wajsman.com/ It seems that the overwhelming number of votes (at least from those who voiced an opinion) went to the alternate. I like it too, but it almost looks posed, though it is not. I rarely add an alternate, but I just could not make up my mind on which I like the best. I suppose that when there is a doubt, we should go with our alternate. It seems that when most of us post PAW alternates, the cry of the crowd is in favor of the alt. Hmmm, maybe we're somehow shy of putting the better one out front? Thanks for your comments.
