I bought the R8 in March from Rich at Photovilla. I am rather ashamed to say that it has had only two films through it since March. I bought it in the expectation that I would use it with my Visoflex lenses at first (I'll throw in the adapter to allow you to use Viso lenses on the R8 if you are infested in the exchange) and then start to add some new R lenses. But the fact is that the M habit has become so deep with me that I have just never picked the R8 up. Whenever I've needed long lenses I've just thrown the Viso into my bag rather than go for the R8. As I'm not a pro and photography is something that I do for pleasure when I have the time and when I feel like it, I've come to the conclusion that 99% of the time I am going to 'feel like' picking up an M, and the R8 is going to continue to lie unused. So... if you are interested, this black R8 is a very recent one, made in Portugal. I wanted to make sure that I had the latest, most up-dated version of the circuitry. It is in perfect condition - having only had two rolls of film through it. It was a full USA import version and I took out the 3 year Passport warranty in my name. I will gladly help you get any work done through the Passport warranty if you do chose to exchange your lens for this camera. It is still with all boxes, paperwork etc., including the strap, unused. As I said, I will include the adapter that allows you to use Visoflex lenses on the R8, giving full metering capability in manual and aperture priority, in stop-down mode (also in as new condition). I'm interested in your 90mm Apo-M. I would also consider a 135mm Apo-M. But I still keep my eye on the deluge of messages every day - and would just like to thank all of you who do contribute, on behalf of all the lurkers like me who still listen in and who are too addicted to unsubscribe. Best to all at this difficult time, Simon, Boston MA. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
