In Colditz castle in WWII (Colditz was the bad boys POW camp where
incorrigible escapers were sent by the Germans, along with high-profile
prisoners who might be useful as hostages) the standard method of carrying
documents, maps and currency during escape attempts was in a modified cigar
tube inserted in the rectum.

Somebody in British Military Intelligence had a sense of humor, as the
cigars, which were sent in parcels, were labelled 'Upmann'.
