Good morning,

While we are singing the praises of a wonderful lens, the 280 f2.8 APO,
another genuinely stellar lens is made in that length, also in an APO
configuration. The f4 version offers [relative] size and weight advantages
with equal image quality. If a bit slower will get you there, the f4 will
bring home startling images, too.

It is a knock-out lens, closer to hand-holdable but heavy, still in the
brick neighborhood, focuses close, with beautiful image rendition, color and
sharpness. The smaller aperture wide open offers lots of creative latitude
owing to the depth of field of this length lens. It's a beauty.

Enjoy the light.
