Rich, thanks very much for putting the information up on you web site so
quickly. it seems this thing a glorified diopter, the regular one's cost
about 70 and this one is priced @ 225. wow. I guess the leica crowd is
getting old and leica had to do something for the old faithful followers. Do
you know if this changes the frame lines, for example the .72 will loose the
28 or any other side effect.

It is my assumption that you would in fact lose the extreme brightlines in
the finder. That is a guess at least.

As far as the price, $229 sounds high today, but just last week rumors were
that it would be $349... so I personally found the price to be right on
target.

I really don't know when something is "worth it" in the eyes of customers or
not...however this is more than a diopter -with 4 elements and the ability to
possibly save one from buying a second body.

I can't think of a Leica accessory more "worth it" in this light. I have not
even seen one in person yet so I can't say much to quality of manufacture or
why it should or should cost that much in that sense.

If the good 'ol plastic wide angle finders are any gauge, then these are
reasonably priced by "Leica standards," no? Those are nearly junk and sell
for $299 with high potential to need super glue on their feet in the future.

I'm just glad that this do-hicky is made of metal and fits all M cameras.

:-)

cheers,
Rich
