I said it a while back....  the life cycle of an IC is measured in maybe
months, maybe a couple of years, after which they can not be nade again.....
as opposed to a gear that could be made forever....

Digital cameras, will have a short life cycle..... as opposed to the M3 for
example where the camera is still going after 45 years....and the LTM
cameras that are still fully repairable after 60++ years.

Do you know what electronics were like 45 years ago?  I think the date of
Schottky's initial semiconductor work at Bell Labs dates to the mid
50's.....
