Oh good grief, spare us the sweeping generalisations. Dixons is *well known*
as a rip-off store and to tar all UK dealers with the same brush is utterly
unreasonable.

buy on a Dealers Leica day and you can get an additional 10% off the list
price (1,895-189.50 -200rebate, net $1505.50) at an exchange rate of
1.447USD to 1GBP,  that's about 1,40.43GBP in the US.   It will pay for your
vacation in NYC to come to NY and buy on a Leica dealer's day."

And you'll have to declare it and pay duty *and* VAT on the way back.
Meanwhile Robert White will sell you an R8 for GBP1325+VAT
