Wasn't it Salgado who supposedly said if people are smiling, he will wave
his fist at them while photographing to get rid of the smile..... or was it
just a LUG rumour?

The only Salgado book/body of work I really like is Other Americas - and
while I enjoy looking at his later ones, I find much of it too theatrical or
operatic in feel - rather like a lot of St. Ansel's landscapes - in fact, I
find much more similarity between St. Sebastian and St. Ansel than comparing
with say Nachtwey or HCB or McCullin or whoever.

Maybe in another 50 years time or so, a very very old Vicky Golberg will
write an article helping to re-establish Salgado's work...?
