[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]for anyone who goes thru midtown/rockerfeller area in NYC, on the ground floor of the UBS/Painewebber building there's a nice exhibition of photographs by esther bubley. she did a lot of work for LIFE magazine in the late 40's-60's, particularly photo-essays. i particularly enjoyed the slices of americana from the 1950's. this is a off-topic since she used a contax (one of the real ones), speed graphic and probably a rollei. but if you're like me and grew up poring over each week's issue of LIFE, i think you'll appreciate these images, beautifully printed and displayed, together with many of the original magazine photo essays.
