(Neal, Steve."President Ike."American Heritage Dec. 1985) however, the rest of the line "you won't be able to tell who the skunk was" does sound like vintage johnson, though you may have it confused with "If you've got a skunk around, its better to have him in the tent pissing out, rather than outside pissing in." though certianly, johnson would have been aware of ike's advice and repeated it sagely. fwiw, ike had a leica, i don't know that johnson did. ike might also have made a book of 3d photos, jury's still out on that one, but he did have a fascination with 3d. to add some merit to this dubious mailing, i'll attach a link to a story which contains both general eisenhower and a leica: http://theworldlink.com/access/Reflections/ike.htm kc
