The effect won't be as pronounced with light red. By the way, the lens
is not the determining factor in deciding which filter to use. You
should go by the film, as every manufacturer, all of two or three I
believe, have the film sensitivity set for slightly different
wavelengths. A little bit of digging around should give you a more
concise answer, as that's just one variable out of many that will affect
your end product.
