i bought used 2 weeks ago, for $1,900 mint.  it's version 3 of the lens
(one right before the latest) with the removable blade-locking (not
bayonet) hood.  i handled this lens as well as the latest version
and actually preferred 
version 3.  it has a larger hood which offers more protection in my
opinion from stray light and physical contact.  the hood also has rangefinder
cutouts.  i've seen pre-owned noctili on the LUG in the 1,600 USD range.

i originally became interested in the noctilux because we're expecting a
sister for kitty and teddy in september, and there was this long thread
in the LUG about "pushlux" that got me thinking... :-)
