Dear Mr. Ted grant,
Thank you for your mail which I received today.

Your mother-in-law was admitted here on 17th July with intestinal
obstruction. Prior to surgery, we also detected that she had quite severe
coronary heart disease. She was operated as an emergency on 18th July. The
cause of her intestinal obstruction was cancer of the left colon. The cancer
had also spread to her liver. The cancer in the colon was removed and she
had a colostomy. After the surgery, she had a minor heart attack and was
quite sick.
She has improved quite a bit and is starting to drink and eat.
I am optimistic that she will go home in about a week's time.
Since the cancer has spread to her liver, the chance of cure is not good.
However, if her heart does not give her further problems, I think she will
have about a year or more to live.

I hope this information is helpful for your planning.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr. Peter Ong,
Consultant Surgeon,
Sabah Medical Centre,
Kota Kinabalu,
Sabah.

Considering both my mother and mother in law have been dead for some time
the above post was somewhat confusing! And guys and gals I hadn't had a
drink. So it was somewhat disconcerting! ;-)

Sun spots or no.
