Subject: [Leica] How to extract the film tab without a film tab extractor.

More cheap tricks for LUGGERS wishing to save money and impress people (sort
of):

To get the tab out of a canister when it's been rolled in without having a
film puller thingamibob handy:

1.Cut a small thin strip of thin cardboard, about 5cms long, 1.5cm wide.
2.Stick a thumb-print sized piece of double sided tape at one end.
3.Poke sticky end of cardboard into film canister (sticky side towards film)
and wind canister reel until cardboard starts pulling into the canister.
4.Pull cardboard back out with film attached.
5.Watch with satisfaction as other less suitably informed people stare in
amazement at your ingenuity.

Light! - weighs about 1/10000 of a gram.
Cheap! - about 1 cent worth of material there.
Easy to make up 3 or 4 or these and pop them in your bag for when you need
them (remember to leave the protective cover on the sticky tape until you
need to use it!)

cheers,
Lucian G.

oh yes. i've gotten to be an expert with this little baby. i can hit it
on the first try 99% of the time. i don't know why more people don't leave
the leader out.
