In summary he stated on record that there would be no major changes to the R range, but significant movement in the M series. The future would comprise of 2 lines in the M series. One continuing to cater to the traditional user and one that would incorporate features of convenience. He also showed the journalist designs of a digital camera that would utilise M lenses. He gave approximate time lines of 18 months for its release. His last comments were to watch out for new and exciting developments that would showcase in Photokina 2002.
