I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Leica wrist strap! It hooks
onto your camera like a neck strap (i.e., using one of the strap lugs), is
made of the same material as their basic neck strap + a leather sleeve that
fits over that strap and serves as a pad. Now, it's not as cheap as the
other straps I've seen mentioned on this hallowed list (its cost: $30), but
it is a high quality, sturdy strap, not to mention it's being made by Leica.

When my dealer informed me that it was the least expensive piece of Leica
equipment I instantly bought one, sight unseen. (Of course, had the
cheapest piece of Leica gear been a Leica kleenex, I still would have
