I find IRC irritating and complicated. You have to find the right network and the right room and figure out all those baffling codes. And the whole thing seems to be run by thirteen year old boys trading warez and porn. With ICQ you just add someone's number, like a tel. no, to your address book, and you can chat anytime you want. You can also restrict who is allowed to have you on their contact list etc. I use it every day to chat with friends in England. It's totally spam free, too. > > More generally, I find that real-time chat gets old really quick, like the > telephone. Depends who you're chatting with and if you have anything to chat about. - -- John Brownlow http://www.pinkheadedbug.com ICQ: 109343205
