two books i'd say you ought to look at ... mark klett's "desert legends"
- -- which was a real watershed book for me -- the guy is amazing. mostly
landscapes, but some people too, done fantastically, and the other is
peter miller's "people of the great planes" -- some landscapes, but mostly
people. whichever way you go (people or places) you cant go wrong with
these two books in your back seat.
