Normally when we think SYNC. We are thinking a fully uncovered film. Not a piece of film with a travelling slit in front of it. It's got the flash firing a sustained (in effect) burst like a flash bulb. The shutter slit slices thought that sustained (strobo) burst. The flash is synching to the camera more than the other way around. Why Leica can't do this I don't know. Keep the shutter. Change the flash.
