I took it to Tamarkin's Leica Demo day and the folks were able to show me how to fit it on tightly. They also said that with a bit of filing on the inside of the ring (where the red dot is positioned) it could also be used for the Vario F4 80-200 lens. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Christensen" <williamc@speedsite.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2001 4:55 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Apo-Elmarit-R 180/2.8 - Tripod Ring/Mount > >From my experience, the STA-1 provides insufficient support for the 100 APO. > Rather than provide rock solid support for the lens, the device permitted > the lens to wobble no matter how tightly it was closed.
