Guys-
If I am not horribly mistaken (and Marc will surely let me know if I am
wrong! :o) ! ) even Erwins was very complimentary about the 8 element 35/2
Summicron- I believe this was the one with the focusing 'tab', right? I had
a chrome one, but sold it, sadly before I could get the black one I wanted,
and as I can tell from the negatives I made with it, it is a super lens!
Since I seldom shoot wide open, I have so far been using the Summaron, and
the Summicron is noticeably better than it- though I use HP5 and Tri-X
mostly, it is hard to tell in the final prints I get.
If cost is a factor, and it usually is unless you are a pro who can justify
the newer gear, I am sure you will not be disappointed with the older 35/2
unless you are into using Tech Pan and a tripod, and analyze the negatives
under a 20x microscope!!! :o)
