I've seen some inkjet prints which have a tendency towards a green cast, but I suspect they have nothing on the following: Artists Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey noticed the way that grass will turn yellow if shielded from sunlight, and both being heavily into grass already (deckchairs seeded with grass etc.) decided to utilise this effect. They seeded a clay mixture with grass seed and made panels from it. They then projected a black and white negative onto the clay panel and as the shoots grow the image is developed within them through the production of different amounts of chlorophyll in different areas. They have even found some 'stay green' grass - by inhibiting chlorophyll breakdown, the grass remains green even after it has died. I'm off to the garden centre for some sensitive material - and I don't want any of that digital astroturf stuff! Brian McCarthy brian@imagespace.co.uk www.imagespace.co.uk
