If this is a photo lab that gives you color prints in a day or two, they may have "corrected" the stopped down shots, thinking they were underexposed (hence the muddy gray color you mention). This happened to me a couple of years ago, when I was having some b&w shots printed at a local lab. The "technicians" mistook my underexposed night shots for unintentionally underexposed night shots, so when I got my pix, all the black night skies were a uniform gray color, though I had bracketed! I am curious though that the exposure given by the meter gave a better black than the compensated shots. It just seems unlikely that the reflected light meter in the M6 gives a blacker black than compensation of -1 and -2 stops. Did you use flash after all? Guy
