It is good at f/4 (much better than the 21/4) but at f/3.4 it is not. Because of that, and the obscuring of the meter cell, I sold mine and eventually replaced it with the 21/2.8A. I seem to be a bit of an anomaly on this list as I photograph into the light wide-open quite often.* The 21/2.8A is a stunning lens and as such it is easy to forgive its slightly larger size. I just inherited my father's Nikon gear, which I will pass onto my daughter, and I now know that no Leica lens can be described as big.
