Has anyone tried stacking a couple of empty filter rims to replace a shade?  Apparently you get less VF obstruction and you can use the regular lens cap.  It should work a treat with 35 and 50mm lenses.

Go to you know where and search for, "Custom Hood Cap for Leica M
35/50&90/135". Looks like a good idea for all you who do not like to reverse
your lens hoods for storage.
