I've sold both and gotten quite a bit of feedback from users... The
strengths of the F3 are durability, great prisim (in the HP),
interchangeable finders, and mechanical overide (only at one speed
however). Things that people don't like are the flash system, having to
remove the flash to load film, slow synch speed, large and heavy with a
motor, lousy meter readout, expensive(!) repairs, and its not a quiet
camera...
The F100 has a lot of advantages I think. In addition to gaining all of
the fancy autofocus features, you get a real flash system, a much
quicker interface, MUCH smaller body when you consider the motor drive,
and a quieter camera, especially with the motor drive! The only
disadvantages I can see is that you don't have interchangeable finders,
no mechanical overide, and no way to rewind film if your batteries die.
As far as the build quality goes, I think both will be fine for almost
anything you can throw at them.. Let me know if you have any other
questions..
