Subject: [Leica] OT: Hexar RF - Questions for Users

I have the RF - I don't want to re-kindle the disc about it's merit's or
lack thereof- I had found the same 'focusing past infininty' problem
with all of my Leica lenses - I assumed this was because of a not so
exact match with the true M mount. Well on vacation I bought the Hexar
28/2.8 and it also focuses past infinity. Yes I do realize that with
all of my lenses that are f/2.0 or slower this will never be a problem.
My question is how difficult is it to get the US distributor/repair
station to fix this problem? Have any on the list sent their RF back to
the repair station ? If so how long did it take, did you have to
contact them first or a blind mailing of the camera acceptable? And once
the camera came back was the rangefinder more or less accurate than
before if all you wanted them to do was correct the ' focus past
infinity' problem - should one forget about this problem and ask for a
regular old RF alignment check? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
