Subject: [Leica] OT Internet technical question
From: Simon Stevens <simon@camera-craftsman.com>

I know there are some knowledgeable people out there on all things
networking, so I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this
for me? Today I was reading the digest and I noticed my domain
(camera-craftsman.com) in the reference line of a post. It looked like
this:

From: "B. D. Colen" <bdcolen@earthlink.net>
Subject: Re: [Leica] Ooooo, vacation pictures...
Message-ID: <3AD84FF6.8992CDB0@earthlink.net>
References: <3AD765FE.7F8D05E7@camera-craftsman.com>
<vd6fdtcpt7tpljlfpf71cpm884a4s4n7rj@4ax.com>

B.D.s was the only one where this was the case & I have never noticed
this before. I know nothing about the inner workings of the internet
but since I'm a digest subscriber seeing my domain in this line seems
odd to me. B.D.s ISP and mine are totally separate. If it is necessary
for the system to route in this way to assemble the digest from all of
the individual posts shouldn't it appear in all of the reference lines
of all of the posts rather than just this random one in the middle of
the digest's text?

This is probably nothing and obviously, I am not suggesting anything
untoward about B.D for whom I have the greatest respect, . but this does
strike me as a little odd. So if one of our web gurus could explain this
in a way that an idiot like me can understand, I'd greatly appreciate
it. Thanks!
