I also have to replace my lens hood on my 35mm Summicron -- from the same bangup. The camera store wants $75 for a plastic retangular hood. I found one on ebay for the bargain rate of $45! The lens' finger focus thing (what's that called) also broke. Leica in New Jersey quoted me about $50 or so on the phone. Losing one's balance while crawling around the side of an old steam locomotive's boiler can get expensive. Thanks for the tips, all. I try calling around for a rewind knob, and in the meantime, my oolder M6 will be sporting a nice shiny Contax rewind knob. Carl I'm glad to hear the rewind has come down in price. A couple years ago, it was about US$100 from Leica NJ. - - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raimo Korhonen" <raimo.korhonen@pp2.inet.fi> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2001 1:45 AM Subject: Vs: [Leica] Rewind knob > 75 bucks for a rewind knob (with crank?) - sounds very reasonable when you consider that the plain lens hood 12575 is available new from Adorama at $ 99.99. > All the best! > Raimo > Personal photography homepage at http://personal.inet.fi/private/raimo.korhonen - --=====================_24142073==_.ALT Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" <html> It's *come down*?!<br> <br> I also have to replace my lens hood on my 35mm Summicron -- from the same bangup.
