It's *come down*?!

I also have to replace my lens hood on my 35mm Summicron -- from the same
bangup. The camera store wants $75 for a plastic retangular hood. I found
one on ebay for the bargain rate of $45! The lens' finger focus thing
(what's that called) also broke. Leica in New Jersey quoted me about $50 or
so on the phone. Losing one's balance while crawling around the side of an
old steam locomotive's boiler can get expensive.

Thanks for the tips, all. I try calling around for a rewind knob, and in
the meantime, my oolder M6 will be sporting a nice shiny Contax rewind knob.

Carl

I'm glad to hear the rewind has come down in price. A
couple years ago, it was about US$100 from Leica NJ.

reasonable when you consider that the plain lens hood 12575
is available new from Adorama at $ 99.99.
