You won't even have to worry about the sun burning a whole in the shutter
curtains with the lens cap off.  And, by using an M body, you have a
viewfinder you can see through.  By my calculations from the sunny 16 rule,
with f 128, you can handhold it at about 1/50 in daylight with TMAX 3200,
and get the nostalgic grain effect at the same time!  Of course, that would
be about 1/15 sec. in Portland ;-)
