Hi Akhil,

I have a mint SL2 "50 Years" (and a M3) that I treat exactly as you
described. Sadly enough I have no contemporary R lens in matching
condition, so a 3.5/35-70 (E60) lives on it.

My "nostalgic" travel kit however comprises a SL + 1.4/80 and M2 +
1.4/35 (pre-asph), both clean, bright, crystal clear and in perfect
working order, but slightly dinged.

Yes there are some lens compatibility quirks:

"one cam":	Leicaflex, stop down metering with all later models
"two cam":	Leicaflex, SL, SL2, stop down metering with all later models
"three cam":	Leicaflex, SL, SL2, R3-R8
"R only":	R3-R8 (typically 2/50, 2.8/90, 2/35 lenses since the 1980s)
"R only ROM":	R3-R8

And some "three cam" lenses (2.8/24, 2.8/19 2nd version) won't fit on on
Leicaflex and SL.
Upgradings and conversions are possible, but not really economic. Well,
trading lenses through a dealer would be more expensive than having your
own lenses converted.

On the second hand market only R3 and R4 are cheaper than an SL. And the
SL allows the use of "two cam" lenses which also can be found at
relatively low prices.
