Steve,

Thank you for the kind words.

My favorite inexpensive software for browsing picture files is ACDSee from
http://www.acdsystems.com/ We use it to browse the pictures on our file
server here.

They make moderately priced products that do different jobs, as well as the
powerful ACDSee Suite 3.1 that (according to their webpage) includes:

ACDSee 3.1 picture viewer, graphic converter and image-sharing tool with
red-eye reduction.

ImageFox lets you preview images and listen to WAV sound files in standard
Windows Open/Save dialog boxes without running an external image viewer or
audio program.

PicaView lets you preview image thumbnails and WAV sound files in Windows
ExplorerT without opening your image files. It also gives you full-screen
viewing, image printing and conversion

They have also Photosee Pro (US $39) which may be just what you need. I
haven't used it, but if their other products are an indication, it should do
what you want.

Photosee Pro: Management and database utility for handling small or large
collections of Kodak Picture CD and Kodak Photo CD disc formats. Thumbnails
(even if located on multiple discs) can be viewed quickly without switching
discs. PhotoSee Pro stores and retrieves properties of each image and disc,
and can search quickly to locate an image.

Finally, if you have Photoshop 5.5 or higher, you can use their Web Photo
gallery process that does a great job of making html pages with that link to
full images.
