The TTL adds a centre green diode that lights when the exposure is "correct". It is easy to tell exactly when the exposure is "correct" on the TTL because only one diode is lit. It is also easy to judge how far off you are with the TTL because about 3/4 of a stop off of "correct", the arrow diode and the centre diode are both lit.
