The 3000 can print at 1440 horizontally, and the Piezo driver claims to print at 2160, which is 3x720, or %50 more. The banding on the 3000 isn't due to this though, that would show up as vertical banding. Horizontal banding is either due to head alignment or to paper transport problems. The 3000 is a front feed system, and as such, causes some paper to drag...which means it doesn't move as much as it should, and you get dark horizontal banding from this. Head alignment will typically cause light horizontal banding.
