The 40/2.8 is a moderate wide angle lens and as such exhibits a little
bit more light fall-off to the corners, compared to the usual 50mm lens.
It is said the V35's illumination system was designed to compensate for
that. Other enlargers are not. And without AF and a taller column there
isn't much reason to use the 40/2.8 on other enlargers.
